Business optimism declines during second quarter of 2020: report

Dun & Bradstreet Pakistan’s Business Optimism Index registers a drop of 7.8 points QoQ to 112.8 points

Dun & Bradstreet Pakistan on Tuesday released the 3rd Edition of the Business Optimism Index (BOI) for the second quarter of 2020 indicating that business optimism in Pakistan declined during the period compared to the first quarter of 2020.

 A summary of results indicates that The BOI in the second quarter of 2020 registered a drop of 7.8 points Quarter on Quarter (QoQ) to 112.8 points. 

The responses for the first quarter of 2020 were collected in two phases; before and after the announcement of the coronavirus lockdown in Pakistan. 

The report for the second quarter of 2020 compares BOI with both the phases in the first quarter of 2020. The BOI in the second quarter of 2020 decreased by 28.3 points compared to the first quarter of 2020 (pre-lockdown) whereas the BOI in the second quarter of 2020 increased by 27.2 points compared to the first quarter of 2020 (post-lockdown).
