FCCI-APSA delegation visits NTU

FAISALABAD

A joint delegation of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) and All-Pakistan Sizing Association (APSA) visited the Weaving Department of National Textile University (NTU) here on Saturday to join hands for making the sizing industry, precious and energy efficient.

Vice President FCCI Engineer Ahmad Hassan, former President Ch. Muhammad Nawaz, Chairman FCCI Committee Ch. Zahid Rashid, Ex-chairman, Hajji Talib Hussain and Mian Ajmal Secretary APSA visited the Weaving Department at NTU and discussed utilization of newly developed lab-scale sizing machine by NTU for the benefit of the industry.

Ch. Muhammad Nawaz thanked Pakistan Science Foundation for funding the project and NTU for the development of this machine which had great importance. The machine has become a continuing need of the industry.

Principal Investigator Dr Yasir Nawab and Co-Principle Investigator NTU Muhammad Ayub Asghar briefed the delegation about features of the newly developed machine.

They said that the machine consumes 20-30 per cent less energy due to innovative heating/drying system. It also offers economical trial run for standardization of sizing recipe and optimization of cost.

The NTU team and the delegation will visit three sizing industries (top, average, and low-level) proposed by Sizing Association and advise them regarding the changes required for energy-saving in the existing setups.

Furthermore, NTU will examine the existing sizing recipes and standardize them using the newly developed sizing machine so that cost and quality of sizing may be improved.
