PSX ends the day flat, KSE-100 closes at 48,289

The day at the bourse started bearish with banks leading the index to fall to an intraday low of 531 points, however with their sharp recovery, the market recovered to close down by 16 points (0.03 pc) at 48,289 level.

A total of 101 million shares worth nearly Rs7.56 billion were traded on the bourse. 364 companies’ shares were traded out of which 151 gained in value, 198 declined and 15 remained unchanged.

The volume leader was K-Electric Ltd with a total 28.5m shares traded at a closing price of Rs 9.11 after losing Rs 0.10 (1.10pc) followed by Bank of Punjab with16.4m shares traded on the bourse at a closing price of Rs15.71 registering an increase of Rs1.00 (6.37%). Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) stock closed at a price of Rs134.24 registering an increase of 2.07 (1.54pc). A total of 7.76m shares of SNGPL exchanged hands.
