Gold surges to Rs129,500 per tola

Price of yellow metal in int'l market rises $9 to $2,050 per ounce

ISLAMABAD: The price of 24-karat gold witnessed an increase of  Rs800 and was traded at the highest-ever rate of Rs129,500 on Thursday, as against its trading at Rs128,700 the previous day, Karachi Sarafa Association reported.

Likewise, the price of 10-gram gold increased by Rs685 to Rs111,025, as against its sale at Rs110,340 on Wednesday.

The price of per-tola silver increased by Rs20 to Rs1,650, as against the previous day’s Rs1,630, whereas that of 10-gram silver went up by Rs17.14 and was sold at Rs1,414.6 compared to Rs1,397.46 at the previous closing.

Gold prices in the international market increased from $2,041 on Wednesday to $2,050 per ounce on Thursday, the association reported.
