Car Chabi project receives $150,000 seed funding

Investment made by Treet Corporation Ltd, a publicly listed company famous for making razors and blades.

Punjab Information Technology Board’s Plan X project “Car Chabi” has raised $150,000 funding from Treet Corporation Ltd, a publicly listed company that is famous for making razors and blades. The project is an attempt to revolutionise the automobiles in Pakistan by providing a digital car key in smartphones.

Car Chabi’s smart device plugs into the car’s wiring harness and provides a number of controls for the car users via smartphone including locking/unlocking, turning on and off, starting /stopping, secure and turning the A/C and heater on/off.

The team is led by two young entrepreneurs Muhammad Ali Rashid and Hammad Siddiqui who believe that the funds will help expand the team and assist in research and development of new products. Car Chabi started operations in January 2016. After the investment, Car Chabi, will now operate under the parent company “RoboArt Pvt. Ltd” and continue to develop a range of products that cater to the needs of masses of Pakistan.

The CEO, Muhammad Ali Rashid also believes that the project will focus on mass production of the product and wishes to market the product all over Pakistan and tapping the Middle Eastern markets.

Syed Shehryar Ali, Executive Director at Treet Group of Companies feels confident about the investment as Car Chabi has a first mover advantage and believes that automation of products will follow this trend.
