PIA Chairman Irfan Elahi steps down: reports

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airline (PIA) Chairman Irfan Elahi has decided to quit from his post and resigned after a tenure of around one and half years, a private news outlet reported on Saturday.

According to the report, Elahi has disappointed over the affairs and the working environment of the nationalĀ carrier over and tendered his resignation during a board meeting.

However, sources in the PIA have denied these claims and have insisted that Elahi will stay as the chairman.

Elahi resumed the additional charge of the PIA Chairperson in December 2016 after Azam Saigol resigned from the position. Previously, he had served as Aviation Division FederalĀ Secretary.
