FBR dismissed three employees on corruption charges

ISLAMABAD: The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has dismissed three employees of Regional Tax Office, Faisalabad from service on corruption charges.

Information available with this scribe shows that the FBR has issued dismissal orders in accordance with Efficiency and Discipline Rules, 1973, after the employees’ official misconduct was confirmed during an official inquiry. A criminal investigation was underway against these employees and an FIR was also registered against them.

The employees were involved in corruption as well as burning the official record, sources said. The dismissed officials include UDC Jhang Zone Abid Iqbal, Notice Server Javaid Masih and Chowkidar Manzoor Qadir. Another employee Chowkidar Aslam Pervaiz has been suspended for a period of three months.

In a separate Notification, FBR (HQ) has placed Syed Muhammad Salman Bukhari, Appraising Officer, Model Customs Collectorate, Gwadar and Maqbool Ahmad, IRO, RTO Faisalabad under suspension for a period of three months.

A communique issued by FBR stated that a joint meeting was held between the representatives of FBR and all the Provincial Revenue Authorities to discuss matters of mutual interest including Common Portal – Single Return to facilitate taxpayers and ways to move swiftly towards an environment conducive for doing business.

The meeting was chaired by Member (IR-Operations) Dr. Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed and his team. A presentation on Common Portal – Single Portal was also made by Director I&I-IR Lahore Ahmed Kamal highlighting the current challenges and proposed way forward.

The participants appreciated the initiative taken by FBR and proposed to submit their views within 15 days. They also requested the FBR to make such meetings a regular feature so that matters of mutual interest are discussed.

Member (IR-Operations) also appreciated the positive gestures of all the provincial authorities and urged that resolving issues at technical level will pave the way for resolution of common interest at provincial and federal political level.

  1. OK so now a UDC, Chmwkidar and a Notice appraiser is all left to be dismissed for corruption and all officers from BPS 14 to BPS 22 are honest and do not own mind boggling assets.
    Good joke.

  2. Those coustom officers dismissed by prime minister from chaman and KPK ar still enjoying all benefits when if any action be taken against them.
