Kohinoor Energy denies receipt of circular debt payments, awaits official communication

Company responds to PSX query following media report on silent circular debt settlements

Kohinoor Energy Limited (KEL) has clarified that it has not received any official communication or confirmation regarding circular debt payments to Independent Power Producers (IPPs), following a media report speculating on undisclosed settlements.

In a response to a Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) query referencing a news article published by Mettis Global Link News titled “The Silent Transition in Circular Debt: Fiscal Year Closes, Market Awaits Clarity”, the company stated that it was not in receipt of any such payments or notifications involving GENCOs and IPPs.

Kohinoor Energy emphasized that it remains committed to regulatory compliance and will promptly disseminate any material information through the PSX disclosure portal (PUCARS) as required under Clause 5.6.1 and Clause 5.6.2 of the PSX Regulations.

The company reiterated its commitment to transparency and assured stakeholders it would keep the exchange informed of any confirmed developments regarding circular debt or other material matters.
