Exim Bank establishment an encouraging move says: FCCI chief

The establishment of the Exim Bank of Pakistan has been welcomed by the Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) President Muhammad Saeed Sheikh. Sheikh said, that it was a positive move which should be felicitated for giving infrastructural support to the imports and exports of Pakistan.

He called the government for ensuring the inclusion of the actual stakeholders into the Exim bank’s board of directors. He met Yasir Hayat Khan, company secretary whom he told that out of $18b total exports from Pakistan 33pc of it come from Faisalabad and is contributing $6b a year to the national exchequer, Sheikh added.

FCCI President also informed Hayat Khan over Faisalabad not being given its due share of representation in the economic policy making despite the city’s economic significance. Yasir Hayat Khan also said that the EXIM bank was established in 2004, but got incorporated in 2015 and the bank is expected to be operation within the next six to eight months, he added.
