Suzuki Pakistan launches Alto VXR AGS 

New model fourth variant to Suzuki’s best selling car of last fiscal year

LAHORE: Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC) has introduced  the fourth variant to PSMC’s best selling car of FY22, the new Alto VXR AGS. The penultimate model available in the lineup will retail for an ex-factory price of Rs2,120,000. 

The company’s introduction of the new Alto is a likely attempt to spur sales. It recorded the sale of 3,954 units in August which was a 41 per cent dip from its already troubling sales figures in July. Figures released for August indicate a contraction of 67 per cent in comparison to August 2021. On the other hand, the price and penultimate nature are indicative that PSMC is cognizant of the record high inflation as it seeks to ameliorate its sales problems with an affordable option. 

The launch of the new Alto VXR immediately raises the question of the vehicle’s availability for the remainder of the year. PSMC has been one of the companies worst impacted by the State Bank of Pakistan’s (SBP) increased administrative oversight of completely-knocked-down (CKD) kits, with the company having announced six halts in production over a 30 day period. 

The Alto has been one of the major victims of these halts as PSMC had suspended its booking on multiple occasions.

  6. Its just a waste of money to purchase this. Instead purchase any sedan under 2 million which will be a worth of 2 million spend….😂😂😂😂😂

  8. why v purchase such a car in huge amount?
    Go other side and search imported or used cats, because as per material used in this car is so rubbish/all r made by plastic so my honorable nation don’t waste money on dis car.
    Just comparison between this and import alto, hope everything is clear in front all of us

    • interesting comments. Suzuki needs to make arrangements to cut down on the prices somehow. But then so do other assembling units in Pakistan. They booking procedures for Suzuki are much smoother and more reliable than the mafia-like behaviour of Honda and Toyota. Toyota’s booking mafia is probably the worst. They won’t accept book I he from common public, they don’t give a tentative date of delivery, they don’t commit to price and they delay deliveries. They squeeze the customers as much as is practically possible. Suzuki is much better in the transparency of these processes and once you pay … the price is fixed at that.

  22. people of Pakistan are so dumb. They all criticize its safety features, high price its value for money. But everyone keeps buying it or leasing it. I think people here have got hell loads of money and a lot of time to waste in criticism.

  23. Receiving car from Suzuki after booking is very painful. I am waiting for my car from August 2021 to date. Due to mistake of their showroom officials I had to pay 170000 difference amount and 5 months are also gone but 8 am empty handed and I have no idea when they will give me my car.

  30. In spite of the announcement, the dealers are not taking bookings for the new variant. It is only available on extra payment of “on” amounting to almost three hundred thousand. What the heck is this. If Suzuki cannot book on reserve price, why should we buy the tin made Suzuki Alto? Why not go for a second hand Toyota?
