KARACHI – Citi Pharma Limited has announced plans to establish a new manufacturing facility in Iraq, marking a major step in the company’s expansion into the Middle Eastern market. The company’s leadership team recently visited Iraq to begin this milestone project.
During the visit, Citi Pharma CEO Rizwan Sheikh met with Iraq’s Health Minister Dr. Salih al-Hasnawi to discuss potential healthcare collaborations between the two nations.
According to CPHL, Iraq’s pharmaceutical market, valued at around $5 billion, presents significant growth opportunities. Citi Pharma aims to capture $1 billion in market share over the next decade, focusing on innovation, quality manufacturing, and improving access to essential medicines.
“This expansion reflects our commitment to strengthening regional healthcare, creating new opportunities, and making quality medicines more accessible to patients across the region,” Citi Pharma stated in its announcement.
The new facility will contribute to Iraq’s healthcare infrastructure, create employment opportunities, and help meet regional demand for high-quality pharmaceutical products.
Although the construction and operational timeline has not been finalized, the company confirmed that planning and development are already underway following the recent site visit.
