Pakistan, Romania explore port-based trade opportunities in high-level PRBC–KPT meeting

Delegation led by PRBC Chairman Sohail Shamim Firpo meets KPT leadership to strengthen bilateral trade and investment cooperation.

A high-level delegation from the Pakistan Romania Business Council (PRBC) met with Rear Admiral Ateeq Ur Rehman Abid, Chairman of the Karachi Port Trust (KPT), to discuss new avenues for enhancing trade and investment between Pakistan and Romania.

The delegation, led by PRBC Chairman Sohail Shamim Firpo and Advisor & Chief Operating Officer Atif Farooqi, engaged in detailed discussions with the KPT leadership on expanding economic cooperation and exploring mutually beneficial initiatives, according to a press release issued by PRBC.

Both sides emphasized the significance of leveraging Karachi Port Trust’s strategic location and advanced infrastructure to facilitate smoother trade flows and stronger business partnerships between the two countries.

During the meeting, participants exchanged views on promoting bilateral trade, investment, and economic collaboration, underscoring their shared interest in fostering long-term commercial linkages.

Trustee Abdullah Zaki also contributed his insights on strategies to enhance Pakistan–Romania trade relations, reaffirming the commitment of both parties to developing sustainable regional trade and investment partnerships.
