Pearl Continental to start operations at Malam Jabba Ski Resort

 

ISLAMABAD: Hashoo Group announced the signing of a management contract between its subsidiary Pakistan Services Limited and Samsons Group of Companies (PVT) Limited, which brings the Pearl-Continental Hotels and Resorts brand to Malam Jabba Ski Resort.

Hashoo Group’s CEO and Deputy Chairman Murtaza Hashwani added, ‘We are pleased to partner with Samsons Group to revive one of Pakistan’s top tourist destinations. Today marks an important milestone as we expand our hotels to more of the top destinations in the country over the next few years. We look forward to welcoming guests to Pearl-Continental (PC) Malam Jabba Hotel and Ski Resort soon.’

Hashwani said that this is the first MoU and his organisation seeks productive cooperation. ‘Hashoo group has a chain from Gwadar to Gilgit-Baltistan. We have made 3240 rooms this year and are developing more properties in Malam Jabba, Multan, Mirpur and Gujrat as new PC destinations.

Our focus would remain in Pakistan. Future of hospitality in Pakistan is bright and we would be a part of it,’ he said.

CEO Samson Group of Companies Waseem Ur Rehman said, ‘We envision a ski resort full of thousands of smiling faces with whole families gathered together and enjoying activities together. From skiing, snowboarding and snow tubing in the winter to hiking, horse-riding, and zip-lining in the summer. families will have wonderful experiences and build great memories at the Pearl-Continental Malam Jabba Hotel and Ski Resort.’

Malam Jabba is the first and only private ski resort in Pakistan and recognised as one of the most scenic tourist destinations in the country. Just 314 km from Islamabad, the new Pearl-Continental Hotel sits atop the Malam Jabba Hill Station, 2650 meters above the sea level and overlooking the scenic Swat Valley.

The luxury hotel, set to open in time for the next ski season, will feature 100 rooms and suites, three restaurants, two cafes, a spa, fitness centre, swimming pool, as well as meeting rooms and large event spaces. Designed with families in mind, the hotel will offer easy access to the expansive Malam Jabba Ski Resort with abundant recreational offerings available year-round.

Umair Sami of Samson group said that work in Malam Jabba had been ongoing since the last three years.

‘Army has restored peace and prosperity in Swat, the most beautiful valley in the region. Its role is commendable. Government backing is a must for developing more such resorts. Pakistan should be known for its beautiful tourist resorts as we have the best natural beauty. From skiing to hiking, Pakistan presents the best opportunities for tourists,’ he said. Sami added that jointly with Hashoo group his company would provide best possible facilities for the tourists.

‘We are also working to contribute towards the wellbeing of the locals and would produce 5000 jobs for youth. Thousands of indirect jobs would also be created in Swat which is witnessing a mushroom growth of small and big businesses after peace returned to the valley’ he concluded.
