LAHORE: The government has decided to reinstate Mr Jameel Ahmad as Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) for a duration of three years.
Mr Ahmad had been appointed to post of Deputy Governor by the previous PML-N administration on April 11th, 2017 and he was removed from this post earlier this month on October 4th, 2018.
He has been working with the central bank for almost twenty-seven years and he joined back in 1991. Previously, he had served as the Executive Director, Banking Group and Financial Stability at the central bank.
He has also served as Group Head, the Operations, Banking Policy & Regulations, Development Finance, and Financial Resource Management.
Mr Ahmad is a member of SBP’s Monetary Policy Committee and various other management committees of the central bank.
