ISLAMABAD — Inflows through Pakistan’s Roshan Digital Account (RDA) reached $196 million in September, marking a 20% increase compared to $164 million in August 2025, according to the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP).

Out of the total September inflows, $19 million has been repatriated, while $117 million was utilized locally. The number of RDA accounts also increased, reaching 862,357 by the end of September, up from 851,756 in August, reflecting a rise of 10,601 accounts.

The total cumulative RDA inflow reached $11.11 billion by the end of September, with $1.878 billion repatriated and $7.118 billion utilized locally. As of September-end, the net repatriable liability stood at $2.112 billion.

The SBP’s data showed that out of the total outstanding liability, $1.469 billion is in Naya Pakistan Certificates, with $490 million in conventional NPCs and $979 million in Islamic instruments. Additionally, $495 million remains in account balances.

Roshan Equity Investments totaled $95 million, marking a 16% increase over the previous month.

The RDA initiative, launched by the SBP in September 2020, allows non-resident Pakistanis to open and operate bank accounts in Pakistan digitally, without visiting a branch. It has become a key source of foreign exchange inflows for Pakistan, which is facing liquidity challenges.
