Drilling, construction starts in Thar area under CPEC

The drilling and construction work has started in the second largest point block-I of Thar Coal area under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor.

According to a report quoting official sources, 4 billion tonneĀ coal exists in the 150 Kilometre long block.

The cost of the block-1 project is 200 billion rupees. The digging of the two power plants with aĀ capacity of 132 megawatts is underway. The construction work in Block-II is also underway at the full swing, with a cost of Rs220 billion.
