ISLAMABAD: The Prime Minister Imran Khan will be hosting a dinner for the top 50 taxpayers for the year 2018 which includes business tycoons Mian Mansha, Babar Ali etc.
A list of top 50 taxpayers has been compiled by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) and a summary of the dinner being hosted by the PM has been forwarded to the finance ministry, reports an English daily.
Figuring amongst the top paying tax companies include heavyweights from the banking sector like HBL, MCB, UBL, National Bank and oil companies like OGDCL, PPL, PSO, and the list includes cellular phone and telecom companies.
And the list of individual taxpayers includes Babar Ali, Imtiaz Hussain, Rehan Hussain, Wazir Ali Pardhan, Hassan Mansha, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Malik Shahid, Abdul Ghaffar Memon, Mian Amir Mansha and various others.
According to sources in the finance ministry, the major reason for arranging a dinner with the PM was to encourage taxpayers and seek their advice in policymaking for bolstering tax revenue.
And the workable recommendations would be included in the budget. Various ministers including Finance Minister Asad Umar, Adviser to PM for Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood, State Minister for Revenue Hammad Azhar, FBR chairman and his team and the heads of the investment board, SECP and other organizations would be attending the dinner.
