ISLAMABAD: The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) on Wednesday approved two projects worth Rs3.9 billion.
The CDWP met with Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan in the chair and reviewed proposals related to health and energy projects.
The first project titled “Detailed Exploration of Uranium Resources in Dera Ghazi Khan, Phase I-X” aims to facilitate the supply of indigenous fuel for energy projects in the area.
The Rs922-million project would also result in the socio-economic uplift of the backward tribal areas of Dera Ghazi Khan.
The second approved project was related to the establishment of a 250-bedded hospital in Skardu, Gilgit Baltistan, at a cost of Rs2.99 billion.
The hospital would cater to 0.6 million people of the Baltistan Division (four districts). Currently, only one 190-bedded facility is available in the entire division.
