ISLAMABAD: The federal government authorised the release of Rs644.7 billion for various ongoing and new social sector uplift projects under its Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2019-20, as against the total allocation of Rs701 billion.
Of total releases, Rs123.6 billion were arranged through foreign funding, while Rs521.1 billion were released from local resources.
Under its development programme, the government released an amount of Rs297 billion for federal ministries, Rs196 billion for corporations and Rs43.8 billion for special areas, according to a data released by Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform.
Of these allocations, the government released Rs49.73Â billion for security enhancement in the country for which it had allocated Rs53Â billion for FY20. An amount of Rs104 billion was released for the blocks managed by the Finance Division under the government’s 10-year development programme.
For the Higher Education Commission, the government released an amount of Rs28.28 billion out of its total allocation of Rs29 billion. Likewise, Rs270.47 million were released for Pakistan Nuclear Regulatory Authority as against the allocation of Rs270.47 million.
Meanwhile, for the National Highway Authority, the government released Rs173.53 billion against its allocations of Rs174 billion. It also released Rs10.02 billion for Railways Division (allocation Rs12.56 billion), Rs8.78 billion for Interior Division, and Rs7.6 billion for National Health Services, Regulations, and Coordination Division.
The Revenue Division received Rs5.84 billion, while the Cabinet Division also received Rs35.16 billion for the year 2019-20.
The government also released Rs 27.26 billion for Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Rs16.48 billion for Gilgit Baltistan.
