Govt urged to announce tax incentives for crisis-hit private advertisers

PESHAWAR: The Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) on Tuesday urged the government to announce a ‘tax relief package’ for private advertisers who it said had incurred huge financial losses during the coronavirus lockdown.

The demand was made by SCCI President Engineer Maqsood Anwar Pervaiz during a meeting with a delegation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Outdoor Advertisers Association (KPOAA).

The meeting was attended by SCCI Senior Vice President Shahid Hussain, SCCI Vice President Abdul Jalil Jan, KPOAA President Haji Rashid Ahmad, KPOAA General Secretary Asif Hussain, KPOAA Chairman Haji Inayatullah and other members of the association.

During the meeting, the SCCI chief was informed regarding issues being faced by private advertisers. The SCCI chief assured that he will take up issues of the advertisers with relevant government departments.

He said that the resolution of issues faced by the business community is amongst the top priorities of the chamber adding that the SCCI has always played an integral role in the resolution of matters pertaining to KP business community.

Maqsood Pervaiz urged the government to introduce business-friendly policies in consultation with SCCI and other relevant stakeholders.

The SCCI president further said that small businesses are the backbone of the country’s economy and should be facilitated at every level.
