KARACHI: Various Chinese technology companies are showing an avid interest in Pakistan’s information technology sector as they gear to launch internet-of-things (IoT), financial and transportation solutions in the country, people with knowledge of the matter said on Thursday.
An industry official who declined to be named said two Chinese companies are at various levels of discussion with the government and in touch with domestic potential partners, reports The News.
Jumore Holdings Group based in Hangzhou, China is a giant conglomerate providing financial service, e-commerce and supply-chain service is interested in entering Pakistan’s market with a financial solution platform to assist entities in collecting capital from their clients.
According to the official, this sort of a service would facilitate two companies’ working in conjunction on various projects in several sectors.
Another Chinese company, Megvii Technology based in Beijing is seeking to enter the Pakistani market for developing apps and other software for transportation departments and one of its services can recognize vehicles’ number plates.
Also, China Boqi Sci-Tech Company which engages in providing environmental protection solution on flue-gas desulfurization and denitrification, energy saving, and clean energy projects is already pursuing some projects in the domestic market.
An industry official said China Boqi Sci-Tech company is interested in connecting with domestic potential partners for further deliberations.
