SBP reserves increase by $6.4m, stand at 8.12bn

The foreign exchange reserves held by the central bank increased 0.08pc on a weekly basis, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Thursday.

On March 8, the foreign currency reserves held by the SBP were recorded at $8,122.9 million, up $6.4 million compared with $8,116.5 million in the previous week. The SBP cited no reason for the increase in its report.

Overall, the liquid foreign currency reserves, held by the country, including net reserves held by banks other than the SBP, stood at $14,965.9 million. Net reserves held by banks amounted to $6,843 million.
