ISLAMABAD: In the wake of current lockdown in the country due to fast spreading of coronavirus (COVID-19), the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has urged the federal and the provincial governments to exempt filed officers of Customs and Inland Revenue from the lockdown to meet revenue targets, a local newspaper reported.
The FBR wants field officers fully functional to meet targets of revenue collection in the last quarter from April to June of fiscal year 2019-2020. It has been learnt that the FBR has written a letter to authorities concerned to include FBR filed officers in the list of essential services exempted from the lockdowns.
