The issuance of agriculture loans to small farmers is in progress in Punjab. According to a spokesman of the Agriculture Department, agri loans worth Rs 30,000 per acre are being provided for Rabi crop while 50,000 per acre for Kharif crop. These loans for owners of up to 12.5 acres are being provided without interest while on priority basis for owners up to five acres of land.
