ISLAMABAD: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has detected serious irregularities in its financial records, resulting in significant losses to the state exchequer.
Director General Kinza Murtaza identified the retired Director Administration and Finance, the late former Deputy Director Finance, the retired Assistant Director Finance, and others as linked to the discrepancies.
Murtaza said recovery of embezzled funds is possible within the legal framework governing estates and properties. She cited legal provisions including Section C-33 of the National Accountability Ordinance 1999, Sections 12 and 15 of the NAB Ordinance, Section 50 of the Code of Civil Procedure 1908, and Order XXII Rule 4 of the CPC.
The DG RDA has formally requested the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Rawalpindi, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and Anti-Corruption Establishment Rawalpindi to take swift action to recover public funds and pursue legal measures against those involved.
Kinza Murtaza reaffirmed the RDA’s commitment to transparency and accountability, stating that combating corruption and protecting public assets remain top priorities.
