The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has received its lowest bid for 100,000 metric tons of white sugar in an international tender, with an offer of $534.75 per metric ton, cost and freight included (C&F), according to European traders.Â
According to media reports, the bid, submitted on Tuesday, remains under consideration, as the TCP reviews the offers.
The TCP, which has been actively sourcing sugar for the country, typically negotiates for several days following tender submissions before deciding whether to proceed with a purchase. As of now, no final purchase has been reported.
Traders suggest that additional price and volume estimates may emerge as the tender evaluation continues. The situation remains fluid, with further offers being evaluated to determine the best deal for the country’s needs.
