Peshawar:The second meeting of the Departmental Development Working Party (DDWP) of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department was held under the chairmanship of Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Saadat Hassan, here at his office, in Peshawar.
During the meeting, the department reaffirmed its commitment to the promotion of sports and youth development across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. In a significant development, the DDWP approved three major development projects amounting to over Rs. 348.864 million.
The approved schemes include the Tehsil Level Playground Scheme for District Buner, the Repair and Rehabilitation of the Existing Football Ground at Safid Arkari in Chitral Lower and Sports Initiatives for the Sustainability of Sports in the Merged Areas.
These projects are expected to significantly enhance sports infrastructure in the province,particularly in underserved and remote areas, thereby providing greater opportunities for youth engagement and community development through sports.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Department, Saadat Hassan, reiterated the department’s commitment to providing inclusive and sustainable sports facilities and emphasized the importance of investing in youth as a cornerstone of long-term provincial development.
The meeting was attended by DG Sports Tashfeen Haidar, Director Sports Merged Districts Raziullah Betani,senior officials of the Sports and Youth Affairs Department, planning staff and other relevant officials.
