ISLAMABAD: Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has asked the authority to block the transfer, sale, and sub-leasing of the copyright, trademark, patent etc of Bio Amla and others owing to the default of sales tax, it was learnt reliably.

A copy of FBR’s notice for attachment of movable properties U/S 48(1) (e) of the Sales Tax Act, 1990 sent to the Registrar, Intellectual Property Organisation of Pakistan (IPO) dated October 11, 2017 available with Pakistan Today reveals that FBR has requested IPO to block the copyright, trademark, patent etc of Bio Amla and others as the owners are defaulter of sales tax of Rs 310,782,22. Since tax recovery is pending against these defaulters, therefore block the transfer, sale, sub-leasing of the copyright, trademark, patent etc. of the Bio Amla and others, said the notice.

The FBR has also asked the IPO that an NOC (No Objection Certificate) from this office should be obtained before initiation of any kind of proceedings with respect to transfer, sale, sub-leasing of copyright, trademark, patent etc. of the Bio Amla and others.
