Govt releases Rs50b to curtail power outages

 In light of rising power outages, the government on Friday released Rs50b to control the power shortfall that has reached 4700 megawatts. Power cuts have been gradually rising across the country despite huge claims by the government regarding the elimination of load shedding in 2018. Urban areas are undergoing load shedding of six hours whereas the rural areas are witnessing electricity cut for 12 hours.
