Govt urged to resolve oil transportation issues

The All Pakistan Oil Tanker Owners Association (APOTOA) representatives called on Energy Minister Omar Ayub Khan on Wednesday to apprise him about their issues related to oil transportation.

The minister said that the problems being faced by oil tanker association would be resolved in an efficient manner. He directed the officials concerned to chalk out a comprehensive plan for oil transportation with the assistance of the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority.

“Steps for improvement of the fuel transportation system should be expedited while keeping in view international protocols,” the minister maintained.

The association members requested the minister to extend the deadline for revamping of complainant oil tankers by two years so that the standards set by OGRA and National National Highway Authority could be met. The deadline is expiring on 26th October 2019.
