ISLAMABAD: The manufacturing of farm tractors in the country decreased by 35.84 per cent to 16,661 units during the first six months of the current financial year (FY20), as against the production of 25,969 units in the corresponding period of last year.
During the period under review, the production of trucks also witnessed a declining trend, as it went down from 3,751 units last year to 1,729 units during the period under review, showing a decline of 53.90pc.
According to latest data released by the Pakistan Automobile Manufacturing Association (PAMA) on Monday, the output of buses plunged to 326 units in the first half of FY20 from 515 units last year (-36.69pc).
The manufacturing of motorcycles and three-wheelers in the country dropped 11.5pc to 809,607 units during the period under review from 914,860 units a year earlier.
Meanwhile, the manufacturing of pickups decreased by 38.05pc to 7,797 units from 12,587 units last year, whereas 2,094 units of LCVs, vans, and jeeps were manufactured during the first half of FY20 as compared to 3,926 units during the same period last year (-46.66pc).
Furthermore, the production of passenger cars also posted a record decline of 46.37pc, as it plunged to 60,860 units from 113,494 units last year.
