Rate of inflation for essential items falls: Asad Umer

Federal Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar has said the rate of inflation for essential products has fallen to less than half in the last three months.

In a tweet on Friday, he said the inflation continues to fall. He said the Special Price Index (SPI) was above twenty percent in mid-January. He said the SPI is down to 8.2 percent this week.

Inflation continues to fall. Latest weekly spi down to 8.2% this week. The year on year spi was above 20% in mid January. So the rate of inflation for essential products used by common citizens has fallen to less than half in the last 3 months
