Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar has said the inflation rate in the country has been showing a sharp decline for the last three months.
In a tweet here the other day, he said the declining trend would continue in months to come. Asad Umar said the Consumer Price Inflation fell to 8.5 percent last month, which is the third successive month of sharp decline in inflation, with CPI dropping by more than six percent in last three months. He said with sharp reduction in petroleum prices from today, this month’s inflation would be still lower.
Consumer price inflation (cpi) fell to 8.5% in april. It’s the 3rd successive month of sharp decline in inflation, with CPI dropping by more than 6% in last 3 months. With the sharp reduction in petroleum prices on May 1, inshallah May inflation will be still lower
