Ishaq Dar reviews supply and pricing of essential food items

Government stays committed to protecting consumers and producers through planning, oversight, and agency coordination, says DPM

ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Monday chaired a meeting to review the domestic situation of essential commodities and food items.

The meeting focused on supply and demand trends, price movements, and measures needed to ensure stable availability of key food products in the market. Dar stressed the importance of a coordinated policy approach to maintain market stability.

He said the government remains committed to protecting the interests of both consumers and producers through planned actions, effective oversight, and cooperation among agencies.

The meeting was attended by the Minister for Commerce, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Tariq Bajwa, the Secretary of Commerce, and senior officials from relevant ministries and departments.
