PIEDMC will construct grid stations in SEZs

LAHORE: The Punjab Industrial Estates Development & Management Company (PIEDMC) has decided to construct two 132 KV grid stations costing Rs870 million in two of their Special Economic Zones (SEZs).

In this regard, the PIEDMC has given the approval to start construction of 132KV grid stations at both Bhalwal and Vehari SEZs in the FY 2020-21.

This decision was taken by the board of directors (BOD) during a meeting chaired by PIEDMC Chairman Syed Nabeel Hashmi.

During the meeting, the BOD also approved the purchase and installation of generators (500 kVA or more) for the two above mentioned SEZs.

Similarly, allocation of Rs20 million from PIEDMC’s own resources was approved to repair roads connecting Multan-Muzaffargarh (N-5) to Multan Industrial Estate.

Moreover, the preparation of a feasibility study report of Sahiwal Industrial Estate in Tehsil Chichawatni will also be carried out by PIEDMC through its own resources.

The BOD also reconstituted the Board of Management; Sundar Industrial Estate, Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate, Multan Industrial Estate and Pakistan Drugs Testing and Research Center as recommended by the Nomination Committee of the BOD, for swift operations of BOM’s.
