SIALKOT: Sialkot International Airport handled nearly 450,000 passengers and more than 1,300 flights in the first half of 2025, according to a news release issued Monday.
The airport also exported over 4,350 tonnes of cargo during the same period.
The airport management has started work on expanding its international passenger terminal to increase capacity and improve services.
SIAL conducted a full-scale airport emergency drill in line with Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority safety rules to ensure operational readiness.
Chairman Hassan Ali Bhatti, Vice Chairman Faraz Akram Awan, and CEO Tanweer Ashraf Bhatti (R) held meetings with the U.S. Consul General to explore aviation cooperation. The ambassadors of Saudi Arabia and Ethiopia also visited the airport during this period.
During the recent conflict between Pakistan and India, the airport followed all instructions from the Pakistan Airports Authority and Civil Aviation and provided full support to the armed forces.
The chairman said the six-month performance reflects the airport’s focus on operational improvements, airline services, and passenger handling. The vice chairman and CEO also shared remarks on the airport’s developments.
