Kohinoor Mills Limited has successfully installed a 4.5-megawatt solar energy system as part of a total planned installation of 7.2 megawatts at its manufacturing facility located on 8 Kilometer Manga Raiwind Road, District Kasur.
The company shared this development through a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Tuesday in accordance with the requirements of the Rule Book of PSX.
“As per company commitments towards sustainable energy and focused operational efficiency, we are pleased to intimate that the Company at its manufacturing facility located at 8 Kilometer Manga Raiwind Road, District Kasur has successfully installed 4.5 Mega Watt solar energy system out of the total planned installation of 7.2 Mega Watt,” read the Kohinoor Mills’ notice.
The company said that the remaining installation of 2.7 megawatt will be completed before the end of the second quarter of the current financial year.
The company will be utilising more than 20% of its operational energy requirement through this newly installed renewable energy source. This will result in cost savings and reduction of the country’s reliance on imported fuel.
