–Special incentives may be offered to immigrants by the govt, says Mir
ISLAMABAD: Prominent Pakistan-born figure in New Zealand has said that Pakistan community is playing a vital role in the development of Pakistan’s economy and by remittance of precious foreign exchange, they constitute the backbone of the country’s development.
While addressing a gathering of Pakistani and Asian community in Auckland on Sunday Farhan Mir said that due to its geopolitical position Pakistan can contribute to maintaining peace and tranquillity in the region and to the entire globe.
He exhorted upon Pakistani expatriates to work hard in a bid to earn a good name for their country in the comity of the world. “You are the ambassador of your country and you should prefer to build up a better image of your country”, he said, adding that “you should desist from the activities which give a bad name to your country”.
He stressed upon the Pakistani government to consider with due attention, the problems and difficulties faced by the Pakistan immigrants so that sense of responsibility is imbibed among them to better serve the country, abroad.
He stated that since the expatriates are contributing a lot to the development of the country, therefore incentives should be announced for them by the government of Pakistan to encourage them for their further contributions.
Mir welcomed the dominance of the ruling party in the general elections being held in New Zealand and expected that well-being of the immigrants will be kept in sight. He assured that immigrants would play their due role in the development of their host country.
