Locally assembled automobiles sales escalate by 41pc in July

Karachi: Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association (PAMA) on Thursday released data pertaining to sales of automobiles for the month of July 2017.

Tractor sales were reported to have surged up by 125pc during July. According to Rai Omar Basharat, analyst at Topline Securities said that Punjab govt’s Kissan package, improvement in crop yield and extension of fertilizer subsidy had contributed to an increase in sale of tractors.

Truck and bus sales registered a 13pc increase in July reaching 792 units.

It was reported that sales of locally assembled cars, which includes vans, jeeps and light-commercial vehicles (LCVs) went up by 41pc in July to reach 19,577 units.

Pak Suzuki Motor Company (PSMC), the country’s largest automobile manufacturer reported an increase of 37pc in total sales during July supported by WagonR and up 77pc from same period last year (SPLY).

Indus Motor Company (IMC) which sells Toyota vehicles reported sales increase of 11pc from SPLY to reach 4,618 units for July.

Honda Atlas sales spiked up by a massive 113pc during July to reach 4,511 units helped by the introduction of new SUV variant BR-V and Civic model.
