PIA sells A310 engines for more than Rs270mn

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airline (PIA) has fetched more than Rs 270 million (Rs 27 Crores) from the sale of 5 idle unserviceable engines of A310 aircraft, that were already grounded.

All PPRA rules and regulations were followed in the disposal of these engines with complete transparency. These engines were nearly 25-30 years old. Tender advertisements were placed in National Dailies as well as International Dailies.

The proceeds from the sale of these 05 engines will be utilised by PIA Engineering Division to enhance the capability and development of infrastructure of the Engineering Department, PIA spokesman concluded.
