Samsung Galaxy S9, S9+ may come loaded with new IntelligentScan unlock feature

LAHORE: One of the most hotly awaited handsets of 2018, Samsung’s expected flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S9 and S9+ may come with a new IntelligentScan feature for unlocking the phone.

The mention of this new unlocking feature was found in the Settings app, and this new feature will offer utilizes “iris scanner and face recognition together for better results even in low or very bright light.”

This comes at a time when Apple’s iPhone X ditched TouchID entirely and moved to FaceID for phone unlocking. According to analysts with knowledge of the smartphone industry then predicted that Android competitors were at least two years away from reaching the technology utilized inside Apple iPhone X’s FaceID.

Details regarding IntelligentScan remain scant and how it will function remains a huge question mark. Many pictures of the S9 and S9+ with detailed specs has been leaked to the press in last few weeks and Samsung’s flagship remains almost a month away from being unveiled.
