KARACHI: Chairman Central, Pakistan Readymade Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PRGMEA) Shaikh Mohammad Shafiq appreciated the initiative taken by Director General Trade Organisations, Ministry of Commerce and Textile Division (DGTO-MCT) for holding consultative sessions across the country.
PRGMEA has been nominated by the DGTO-MCT as a “Coordinating Trade Organisation” and is holding the 1st consultative session on Capacity Building of Secretary Generals and office bearers of licensed Trade Organisations (TOs).
TOs based in the southern region of Pakistan, as approved by the regulator will hold their first session on Tuesday, March 06, at PRGMEA House Karachi.
Licensed TOs offering collaboration will be given the status of Coordinating TOs for a lead role in holding the consultative sessions in different cities of Pakistan on a sustainable basis.
This event is aimed at enhancing awareness of the legal trade bodies representing business communities engaged in trade, industry, and services sectors for improved regulatory compliance of the Trade Organisations Act and Rules, 2013.
Chairman PRGMEA praised the efforts of DGTO for holding the sessions which would be very helpful in post-licensing and renewal requirements as per the provision of law. This will also restrict fake organisations from obtaining the license from DGTO office.
The Directorate General of Trade Organisations with an aim to create required linkages amongst TOs plans to hold consultative sessions on a regular basis for Licensed Trade Organisations of Pakistan in a bid to establish strong linkages between TOs and DGTO.
