Ports, shipping play important role in economy: Bizenjo

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Maritime Affairs Mir Hasil Khan Bizenjo has said ports and shipping are playing an important role in further strengthening the national economy.

He said China is giving importance to Gwadar Port because it is focusing on trade with other countries through the seas. The minister said many countries of the world desire trade through the waters because it is cheaper as compared to airlines. South Asian Communicable Terminal is generating and offering power to K-Electric.

He added that two Liquefied Natural Gas terminals at Port Qasim are also helping to reduce power shortages from the country.
