ISLAMABAD: The government has released Rs1054.249 million under its Public Sector Development Programme (PSDP) 2017-18 as compared the total allocation of Rs1615.669 million earmarked for the financial year ending on June 30, 2018.
Under the development programme, an amount of Rs350 million was released for the promotion of olive cultivation on a commercial scale in the country as against the total allocation of Rs500 million during the current financial year.
Under PSDP 2017-18, the government has also released Rs199.16 million for national pesticides residue monitoring system as against the total allocation of Rs284.308 million during the period under review.
In order to promote the aqua culture in the country, the government had allocated Rs48.174 million in the annual development programme for aqua feed production for commercially important culturable fishes and released Rs40.174 million by the mid of the current month.
The government has released Rs25.616 million for the development of clean and true to type fruit plant nurseries at a national level as the government had allocated Rs36.91 million for 2017-18.
In order to control the risk-based control of foot and mouth diseases in the county and to promote the livestock and dairy production, the government has released Rs103.725 million as against the allocation of Rs134.920 million.
Meanwhile, an amount of Rs127.284 million was provided for the project up-gradation of the arid zone research institute to the level of arid zone research and establishment of new adaptive res.cum demonstration institute at Seakach, Wana, South Waziristan Agency, Mirhanshah, North Waziristan Agencies.
