PM stresses inclusion of experts, professionals in BoDs of govt companies

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday emphasized on inclusion of capable and experienced professionals in the board of directors (BoDs) of government companies.

Chairing a consultative meeting on ‘increase in the production of petroleum and gas sector’, the prime minister said recruitment of experts would not only minimize government interference in the (govt companies) boards but would also increase their performance.

Various proposals were presented on the occasion regarding increasing the local production of petroleum and gas. The Ministry of Petroleum was asked to formulate a comprehensive plan on the proposals and present it to the prime minister in the next meeting.

The meeting was attended by Finance Minister Asad Umar, Petroleum Ghulam Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan and Energy Task Force Head Naseem Babar.
