inDrive partners with Vlektra to launch electric bikes in Pakistan

The co-founder of Vlektra states that the initiative aims to reduce emissions and promote eco-friendly transportation alternatives

The inDrive revealed a strategic collaboration with Vlektra, an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, to incorporate electric motorcycles into its ride-hailing fleet in Pakistan, according to a recent press release.

The collaboration positions inDrive as the first ride-hailing company in the country to embrace EVs, marking a significant development in the nation’s transportation sector.

The initiative is seen as a noteworthy milestone in Pakistan’s pursuit of a sustainable future, with a focus on reducing emissions and fostering environmental consciousness.

Roman Ermoshin, the Director of the APAC region at inDrive, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, stating, “This partnership signifies our concerted effort to introduce electric bikes, driving a significant shift towards a cleaner, more eco-conscious future in the region.”

Fatiq Bin Khursheed, Co-founder of Vlektra, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that the partnership represents a pioneering move in Pakistan’s ride-hailing landscape, introducing electric vehicles for sustainable mobility. The core objective of the collaboration is to contribute to emission reduction and promote eco-friendly transportation alternatives.

Notably, inDrive, founded in 2013, is a global ride-hailing platform operating in over 450 cities across 46 countries. The platform allows customers to set fares based on real-time demand and market conditions, ensuring a transparent pricing system for both passengers and drivers.

Vlektra, a Pakistani startup established in 2021, specializes in providing eco-friendly and sustainable electric vehicle solutions. Committed to reducing Pakistan’s carbon footprint, Vlektra offers a range of electric bikes and scooters designed for everyday use, contributing to the promotion of sustainable mobility through innovative EV technology.
