Pakistan, China forge a $40 million textile cooperation at TEXPO 2024

Strengthening ties in Pakistan’s textile industry, a $40 million partnership between leading Chinese and Pakistani firms marks a milestone at TEXPO 2024

Chinese textile giant Hunan Dongxin Textiles Ltd and Pakistan’s Keywin Trading Ltd have signed $40 million in agreements at the TEXPO 2024 in Karachi to strengthen collaboration in the textile industry.

This partnership, covering a one-year tenure, was signed by executives Wang Jun of Hunan Dongxin and Sajjad Mazahir of Keywin Trading, along with their suppliers Mahmood Textile Mills and Gadoon Textile Mills.

Hunan Dongxin, one of China’s largest private textile firms with over 10,000 employees, operates five manufacturing plants and six subsidiary companies across major Chinese cities, including Shanghai and Foshan. The company boasts a production capacity of 30,000 spindles and 3,000 cotton weaving machines, with recent investments elevating its technological facilities to first-class status in China.

Its product lineup includes cotton yarn, cloth, textile machinery parts, and chemical raw materials, with markets spanning China, Africa, South Korea, and Southeast Asia.

Keywin Trading Ltd, a major textile indentor based in Hong Kong, specializes in cotton trading, yarns, and fabric sourcing with annual sales exceeding $40 million. With deep-rooted connections to Pakistan’s textile sector, Keywin is well-positioned to meet the demands of the Chinese market effectively.

Held by the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP), TEXPO 2024 attracted over 600 international visitors, including 30 Chinese delegates. According to a report, Mazahir commended Pakistan’s textile diversity, highlighting the presence of 250 companies showcasing products across sectors like denim, home textiles, and leather.

Wang Jun praised the TDAP and Pakistan’s embassy for facilitating connections, while also appreciating the quality of exhibits at the expo’s Hall 3 and Hall 4.

This landmark agreement marks a critical step for Pakistan’s textile industry as it seeks to bolster exports and foster deeper international partnerships.
