The Pakistani passport has been ranked the fourth-weakest in the world for the fifth consecutive year, according to the latest Henley Passport Index.
Pakistan’s passport, tied with Yemen, ranks 103rd globally, providing visa-free access to only 31 destinations out of 227. The only passports ranked lower are those of Iraq (104th), Syria (105th), and Afghanistan (106th).
The Henley Passport Index calculates a country’s “visa-free score” based on how many travel destinations a passport allows access to without requiring a visa, or with a visa on arrival.
This year, Pakistan’s passport maintained its position from 2024, when it was ranked 100th, offering visa-free access to 32 countries. The Pakistani passport has been ranked among the weakest since at least 2021, when it was placed 107th with the same visa-free score.
Singapore continues to hold the top spot, offering visa-free access to 193 destinations, followed by South Korea with 190, and Japan with 189. Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain, and Switzerland are tied for fourth, providing access to 188 destinations.
The United States has seen a significant drop, falling to 12th place, with visa-free access to 180 destinations. Similarly, the UK passport has dropped from sixth to eighth, marking its lowest rank since it was once the top-ranked passport in 2015.
China’s passport also slipped, moving from 59th to 64th, with a decrease in its visa-free score from 85 to 82 destinations.
