FBR revises duty drawback rates for electric fans

ISLAMABAD: Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce and Investment Abdul Razak Dawood said on Monday that the FBR has revised duty drawback rates from 4.39pc to 1.7pc for electric fans after 11 years.

“I am pleased to announce that Federal Board of Revenue has issued the notification for new rates of duty drawback for electric fans,” the adviser wrote on his official Twitter account.

“I have always maintained that duty drawback is a right of the exporter and hope that these measures will result in enhancing domestic production and consequent exports,” he added.

He said that the step was in pursuance of the government’s policy of diversifying the country’s exports, wherein engineering goods was one of main priorities.

“It is also the government’s commitment to promote ‘Make in Pakistan’ and export-led growth.”
