CM Buzdar, Bajwa discuss CPEC projects in Punjab

ISLAMABAD: China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority Chairman Lieutenant General (r) Asim Bajwa and Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar on Wednesday held a meeting in which both sides agreed to expedite work on China–Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects in Punjab.

The meeting was attended by secretary Transport, Principal Secretary to Punjab CM and other concerned officials.

According to details, the meeting discussed in detail the progress on ongoing projects under CPEC in Punjab as well as measures to develop the agriculture sector of Pakistan.

The meeting also discussed the progress of the Orange Line Metro Train project.

“CPEC projects in Punjab are being completed with transparency and will improve the economy. Test run of Orange Line Metro train has been conducted in Lahore and it is scheduled to be made operational by the end of next month,” the Punjab CM said.

Later, Bajwa took to Twitter to express his satisfaction with the progress achieved during the meeting.

“Productive meeting with CM Punjab discussed SEZs, agriculture transformation models for Punjab under CPEC framework& operationalisation of Orange Train. CM, in presence of concerned ministers, directed to extend the fullest support for envisaged CPEC projects #cpec #cpecmakingprogres,” he wrote.
